Tax rate changes . . .
We've added an enhancement to the system that will allow you to handle changes in tax rates more efficiently and accurately. For purposes of this example, let's assume you have a tax where the rate is going to change from 5.5% to 6.0% effective July 30, 2003.
Before the change takes place, go to the "Add, Change, Delete Taxes" window for the tax that's going to be changed. Key in the new tax rate in the "Current Tax Rate" field. Like this:
Then, left-click the Options button and then left-click "Implement a Tax Rate Change". This will cause two new fields to appear. Like this:
Key in the date the new tax rate becomes effective (using the drop-down calendar) and the old tax rate ( that is, the tax rate that's going to be changing). Like this:
By entering the effective date for the new tax rate as well as the old tax rate, the system can now automatically apply the appropriate tax to each financial transaction regardless of the date.
Latest Versions . . .
The latest version of the Lynx software is 7.7.50.90 To check which version you have, go to the Main Menu, left-click on "Help" and then left-click on "About...".
The latest version of the Help System is 4.30 To check which version of the Help System you have, go to any Help topic (it doesn't matter which one) and left-click on the word "Help" near the top of the window on the second line and then left-click on the word "Version".
